Legal and Compliance Analayst
Working in the headquarters of a leading law firm based in central Birmingham this role will work within the team supporting the data and governance in the business and those that audit business risk for them and their clients. You will work within a fantastic team of motivated and likeminded people who have a great team ethos and are specialists in what they do.
It is a great opportunity to put skills gained in academic study in to practice and to build your relevant experience. The team look into all areas of data protection, business risk and this role will support with the initial with queries on data protection and information governance including FOI (Freedom of Information) requests and SARs. You will take queries, gather relevant information, investigate the details and analyse them alongside the group data policy and GDPR legislation. You will prepare a report, including any information, redacting sensitive data where necessary. Alongside this you will provide advice on confidentiality breaches and data governance.
You will work with large and complex clients in the public and not for profit sectors and being able to communicate complex analytical and legal information in a clear and concise way is key. You will have some experience in data governance or data protection and have dealt with FOIs, DPIAs and SARs which you could have been gained from temporary roles or previous permanent positions. A background in Law, other analytical humanities degree such as History or English as well as business and finance based degrees are all a great fit for this team. Being able to keep on top of multiple workstreams at the same time and being well organised are also important!
The team operate from modern central Birmignam offices and offer 2 days home working per week if desired. They have a great team culture, and the role is busy and varied.
