Procurement Specialist – Public Sector

Location: Birmingham | Hybrid

A fantastic opportunity for an outstanding public sector procurement professional. Due to continued growth, our client is looking to appoint a Procurement Specialist to join their expanding Client Services team. This role is ideally suited to someone with experience in Local Authority or wider public sector procurement who is keen to work on high-impact, transformation-focused projects.

You will take ownership of procurement workstreams for new Early Payment projects, while supporting an established portfolio of public sector clients to optimise procurement processes and unlock further value. Working closely with Local Authorities, you will help modernise procurement approaches and embed innovative solutions within compliant, regulated frameworks.

This role offers a unique opportunity to apply your procurement expertise in a project-led, consultative environment, while developing strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.

The Role
  • Lead Local Authority and public sector clients through end-to-end project implementations, supporting the transformation of procurement activities.
  • Own and drive the sourcing and procurement workstream as part of a collaborative project delivery team.
  • Support clients in integrating early payment solutions into tender documentation, evaluations, and procurement strategies, ensuring full compliance with public sector regulations.
  • Act as a change champion, building engagement and buy-in across Procurement teams and wider stakeholder groups.
  • Provide expert advice on complex tender queries, developing practical and innovative solutions that deliver value for public sector clients.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of internal strategic initiatives.

About You
  • Proven experience in procurement and contract management, ideally within a Local Authority or wider public sector environment.
  • Strong understanding of public sector procurement processes, governance, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • A solutions-focused mindset with strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Enthusiastic about driving change, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Confident managing multiple client relationships and project workstreams simultaneously.
