Salary: £55,000 DOE
We are seeking a highly professional and experienced Housekeeper/Cook to manage the day-to-day upkeep and presentation of a private residence in London, while also preparing high-quality, nutritious meals for the household. This is a trusted role that requires a proactive, discreet, and organised individual with a passion for both domestic excellence and culinary care.
Key Responsibilities
- Housekeeping
- Maintain the home to an immaculate standard of cleanliness and organisation
- Perform daily cleaning: dusting, vacuuming, polishing, and floor care
- Manage laundry, ironing, and wardrobe organisation, including delicate fabrics
- Care for fine furnishings, artwork, and specialty items using appropriate methods
- Maintain cleaning supplies and household inventory
- Report and coordinate household maintenance issues
- Ensure each room is consistently presented to a high standard
- Cooking & Meal Preparation
- Plan and prepare fresh, balanced meals aligned with family preferences and dietary needs
- Shop for high-quality ingredients and maintain a well-stocked kitchen
- Serve meals at agreed times, ensuring excellent presentation and hygiene
- Occasionally cook for guests or small gatherings as requested
- General Household Duties
- Liaise with external contractors or maintenance personnel as required
- Accept deliveries and manage household errands
- Assist with table setting and light service during meals or events
- Provide occasional support with pet care or guest assistance
- Always maintain the highest levels of discretion and confidentiality
This Job would ideally suit a Housekeeper/Cook
- Proven experience in a similar role within a private household or high-end hospitality setting
- Minimum of 4 years private household housekeeping experience
- Strong culinary skills with a broad knowledge of cuisines and dietary requirements
- Excellent housekeeping and laundry abilities, with meticulous attention to detail
- Self-motivated, organised, and capable of working independently
- Professional, discreet, and trustworthy in all circumstances
- Flexible with working hours, including occasional weekend availability
- Fluent in English with strong communication skills
Competitive salary of offer to right Housekeeper/Cook paying £50,000–£55,000, or more DOE
